From time to time Star:Line hosts social events where we can discuss transportation and land use issues while we practice what we preach in the suburbs. Each Star:Line Social event is 100% transit-accessible, although admittedly some events will be more challenging than others to get to. (That’s kind of the point – it’s a lot easier to learn about the inefficiencies of the network and discuss potential solutions from a rider’s perspective.)
Friday, June 15 – Impact Field
Join us for a fun night at Rosemont’s new minor-league baseball stadium as we nerd out over transportation in the urban planning clusterfuck that is Rosemont’s Entertainment District. First pitch is 7:05pm if you want to meet us at the stadium, but for commuters from downtown (or people who just love trains) we’ll meet at Union Station at 5:30pm and take the 6:00pm Metra NCS to the Rosemont Metra Station, just steps away from the ballpark. Following the game we’ll walk across the Tri-State and continue the discussions and drinks at a Parkway Bank Park venue.
Free shuttles operate between the entertainment district and the Rosemont CTA station, with connections to the Blue Line and Pace buses.
Ticket information is forthcoming; RSVP on our Facebook page.
